What is a solid foundation?

Developing the skills you and your horse need on the ground and in the saddle to stay calm, connected and responsive to each other whatever you are faced with.

Safety is the first princple, then developing a subtle language together, to allow you to specialize in any discipline without leadership problems getting in your way.

Separation Anxiety / Confidence

In my experience anxiety is down to your horse only feeling SAFE when he is with other horses. This is a natural instinct for any horse. No matter how annoying it maybe when you want to ride.....It has kept them alive for thousands of years.
So when we take others away from them they feel nervous.

So how can we fix it?

The best thing you can do is to work on their confidence in two separate ways BEFORE YOU REPEAT THE SEPARATING;

1) Develop their confidence in YOU. Can you provide CLEAR, CALM & EFFECTIVE leadership that cause you horse to feel SAFE !
2) Work on their SELF CONFIDENCE so they can eventually be calm even without you there.

DON'T JUST KEEP REPEATING THE PROCESS OF SEPARATING THEM IN HOPES IT GETS BETTER - It rarely does !
Remember  it is a process but it comes down to SURVIVAL INSTINCTS.
